The Augustana volleyball team returns three from its pin hitters position last year, as well as welcoming in four new freshman to their pin hitter's core.

Senior Sophia Terwilleger has the most experience as she has played a total of 215 sets and 81 matches coming into her final year as a Viking. The other two returning players are sophomore Grace Haberland and junior Payton Rosendahl.

Terwilleger started in 23 of the 25 matches she played in 2018. She was fourth on the team with 229 digs throughout the season and on the offensive side was fourth in service aces with 22. The senior returns with the most digs from the past season.

Haberland played in 25 sets this past year totaling 144 kills which was third on the team. She will one of the top offensive hitters this year as the Vikings look to replace All NSIC First Teamer Courtney Place. On the defensive side she tallied 95 digs and 15 block assists. She had a career high 20 digs against MSU Moorhead and a career high 14 kills against Charleston.

Rosendahl played in 27 sets this past year in which she collected 135 kills over the course of the season for a attacking percentage of .193. On the defensive side of things she had 40 digs and had 22 block assists. She had a season high 13 kills against Concordia St. Paul.

Freshman Lexie Langley, Kate Reimann, Maddy Guetter and Kia Kriener will all be vying for playing time next year.

"This Spring the hitters focused on tempo attacking and continued to work on their connection with our setters," head coach Jen Jacobs said. "I'm proud of where we started and how Spring season ended...I think the fans will be in for a treat this Fall!"

Part two of the Spring Report features the middle blockers and will be available Monday.
