SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana women's golf team will travel to Arizona on Monday to compete in the West Texas A&M Invite in Tuscon, Ariz. The tournament starts on Monday and will finish up on Tuesday.

The West Texas A&M Invite will be played at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon in Tuscon, Ariz. The 5,978 yard, par-72 course features generous fairways and picturesque views throughout.

West Texas A&M won the invite last year with a two-round score of +24 (600). Jaime Jacob (CSU-San Marcos) won the individual title with a score -2 (142). Augustana placed 8th with a score of +58 (634).

Last time out the Vikings competed in the Jennies Golf Invitational in Missouri. As a team the Vikings placed fourth with a score of +74 (642) and Hannah Hankinson led the way individually with a score of +9 (151) to place third at the invite. McKayla Poppens struggled in the first round but shot a 70 in the final round to jump 40 spots for ninth place and a score of +15 (157).

Earlier this year, Augustana was picked to finish first at the Northern Sun Championships (NSIC) receiving all 11 first-place votes and tallied 121 points to rank ahead of Minnesota State, which tallied 111 points and the other first-place vote. Junior Hannah Hankinson was also voted by the league coaches as the NSIC Preseason Women's Golfer of the Year. The Vikings have won the last nin NSIC titles and 10 in the last 11 years.
