SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- A South Dakota High School Basketball Hall of Fame inductee is returning to the Rushmore state. On Friday, Augustana athletics officially introduced Robin Anderson Thormodsgaard as the Associate Athletic Director for Development/Executive Director of the A Club. Thormodsgaard is looking forward to being in Sioux Falls and starting with Viking athletics.
"Sioux Falls has grown to be a very dynamic Midwest city with an outstanding and supportive local community," Thormodsgaard said. "I'm looking forward to returning to my home state, and I am excited to work with Dr. Pam Homan and
Josh Morton and the rest of the Viking team to help take Augustana to the next level."

Josh Morton is also excited to have Thormodsgaard joining the administrative team.
"We are thrilled to have Robin joining our talented team of coaches and administrative staff. Her own experience as a student-athlete, as a coach and her management experience, will help move Augustana toward our 2030 vision. Our donors, alumni and friends will enjoy working closely with Robin to make their philanthropic impact on campus."
Over the last three decades, Thormodsgaard has lived in Southern California where she most recently worked as the Director of Development at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Over the course of three years, Thormodsgaard's primary role focused on working with alumni, parents, and friends to secure annual and major gifts for the Los Angeles regional territory.
Before being promoted to the Director of Development role, Thormodsgaard also spent three years as the Director of Operations at UC Santa Barbara. Working closely with all staff, Thormodsgaard was a liaison with the athletic director for all budgets, marketing, facilities, and administration reporting.
Thormodsgaard started her career and spent two decades as a corporate account manager at the THOR group. Holding multiple roles, Thormodsgaard played a crucial role in identifying, hiring and training sales and administrative staff.
One of the greatest basketball players in South Dakota history, Thormodsgaard was the first four-year first team All-State selection. Her Clear Lake team was state champion in 1976 and runner up in 1977 and 1979. The combo guard scored 2,332 points (23.6 a game) over her four-year career. Robin became the first player to receive a full-ride scholarship for women's basketball at University of Iowa scoring 1,046 points playing for Hall of Fame Coach C. Vivian Stringer her last two years. She was also inducted to the South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
Thormodsgaard resides in Sioux Falls. Robin's parents, Jim and Jeanette Anderson, still reside in Brandt, SD. Jim was inducted into the SD Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998. Thormodsgaard's daughter Traci and son TJ both live in El Segundo, Calif.
