Hankinson, Poppens Finish Season at the NCAA Central Regional

Hankinson tied for 15th, while Poppens tied for 41st

MUSKOGEE, Okla. -- After a great season, two Augustana women's golfers seasons ended in Muskogee, Okla. on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Hannah Hankinson placed tied for 15th in a field of 66 total golfers after she turned in a three-round score of 231. After the first day of competition, Hankinson shot a 80 for a first round score of +9 and was tied for 35th place.

After weather forced the final 36 holes to be played on Tuesday, Hankinson came out firing and jumped nine spots to 26th place after the second round had concluded finishing round two with a score of 76. Heading into the final 18 holes, Hankinson continued her hot shooting day and jumped 11 spots to finish tied for 15th place. The junior shot a round 3 score of 75. She would finish at +18 (80, 76, 75).

McKayla Poppens came out firing after the first day and a shot a 76 which placed her tied for 12th at +5. Poppens, after a weather delay that pushed the tee times back two hours, shot a round two score of 77 to put her in 13th place going into the final round.

The junior struggled in round three and finished with a round three score of 86 to tie for 41st. She would finish at +26 (76, 77, 86).
