SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Augustana's 2019 volleyball schedule, which features 10 home matches with the entire 29-match slate beginning Friday, September 6, was announced on Thursday.

"After a phenomenal Spring season, we are really looking forward to the 2019 Fall campaign," head coach Jen Jacobs said. "This fall we start off on the road at regional powerhouse - Nebraska-Kearney which will be a good test for us early and wrap up the preseason at Texas A&M-Kingsville where we will see some talented teams from that region. Then we kick off NSIC conference play which is always a grind from the get-go."

The Vikings will open the season at the Loper Pre-Season Invite on September 6 in Kearney, Neb. against Oklahoma Baptist at 10 a.m. They will then travel to Kingsville, Texas to compete in the Texas A&M Kingsville Invite on September 13-14 before starting up conference play at Northern State on Friday, September 20.

Augustana's home opener will be Friday, Sept. 27 against U-Mary at 6 p.m. at the Elmen Center. The Vikings schedule has five opponents that made the 2018 NCAA DII Tournament in Nebraska-Kearney, Concordia St. Paul, Southwest Minnesota State, Minnesota Duluth and Northern State.

"This time we see Northern State on the road for our first conference matchup which will be a good one," Jacobs said. "Our home opener weekend is September 27th and 28th when we host U-Mary/Minot. We hope to see the Augustana community and fans come out for that weekend!"

Augustana's non-conference schedule features nine matches against seven different conferences in addition to the usual 20 Northern Sun Conference matches. Fans interested in purchasing season tickets or joining the A-Club for the 2019 campaign can fill out an interest form on GoAugie.com and Augustana Athletics staff will get back to them promptly.

The Vikings are set to return nine players from last season along with welcoming in six new members into their freshman class. During the 2018 season, Augustana had a 5-15 record in conference play and a 10-18 record overall.
