CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced today with a total of 1,097 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. Among those golfers Augustana had six make the All-American Team in
Annemarie Fisher,
Hannah Hankinson,
McKayla Poppens,
Alex Stone,
Sydney Weber and
Natalie Young.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
Hankinson and Poppens both competed in the NCAA Central Regional with Hankinson finishing tied for 15th in a field of 66 total golfers after she turned in a three-round score of 231. Poppens finished with a three-round score of 239 to tie for 41st place.
Fisher finished with a three-round score of 268 to place 33rd at the Northern Sun Conference Championships (NSIC). Stone finished with a stroke total of 249 to finish tied for 14th with a score of +33. Weber ended the season competing in 17 rounds shooting an average of 84.59.
Young competed in 15 rounds and eight tournaments throughout the season shooting an average of 81.87 (+10).
