LAKE CITY, Minn. -- The Augustana women's golf program won the Golden Bear Classic after shooting a two-round total of 634 (303/303). The two-day event featured two-rounds on the par-72 course in Lake City, Minnesota. Junior
Alex Stone fired off a 75 and 69 (144) to claim the individual title on Tuesday. This is the second time Stone has won the individual title at the Golden Bear Classic, the first was in 2017.
Individually, the Vikings finished with three in the top-10 with everyone having strong rounds. NSIC Preseason Player of the Year Hannah Hankinson finished in second-place behind Stone to finish with a score of 71 and 75 for a total of 146. Freshman Molly Stevens finished 11 strokes behind Hankinson to tie for ninth place with a score of +13 (157).
Rounding out the team scoring for the Vikings were McKayla Poppens and Kait Asklund. Poppens and Asklund would tie for 21st place with a score of 161. Poppens fired off a 78 on the first day and an 83 on the second day. Asklund shot an 80 and an 81 at the classic.
Natalie Young and Sydney Weber competed as individuals at the Golden Bear Classic. Young tied for 18th place while Weber tied for 43rd place. Young finished with a score of 78 and 82 (160) and Weber finished with a two-round score of 86 and 83.

The Vikings will travel to Marshall, Minnesota, to compete in the Mustang Invite on Saturday and Sunday. To end the month, Augustana will host the Augustana Fall Invitational on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29 at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D.
