Augustana Takes First At The Ramada Mustang Invite

Alex Stone takes home the individual title

MARSHALL, Minn. -- The Augustana women's golf team earned its third-straight team title after shooting a two-round score of 608 at the Ramada Mustang Invite in Marshall, Minnesota. Alex Stone took home the individual title with an even-par 144 for two rounds. 

Stone tied the Mustang Invite record with a 2-under 70 on Sunday to take home her second straight first-place honor. Stone also tied the tournament record with an even-par 144 for two rounds. 

Individually, the Vikings finished with four in the top-10 and five in the top-15. Hannah Hankinson finished in second-place behind Stone to finish with a score of 72 and 78 for a total of 150. Freshman Molly Stevens finished five strokes behind Hankinson to tie for seventh place with a score of +11 (155). 

Rounding out the team scoring for the Vikings were Natalie Young and Kait Asklund. Young placed 21st after shooting a two-round score of 161 while Asklund finished with a score of 165 (+21). 

McKayla Poppens, Hanna Morin, Annemarie Fisher and Sydney Weber all competed as individuals at the Mustang Invite. Poppens finished with a +12 (156) to tie for 10th place while  Morin finished one stroke behind Poppens to tie for 13th place after shooting a 157 (+13). 

Fisher shot an 83 and 82 to finish with a 165 (+21) to tie for 31st with Asklund and Weber finished tied for 44th with an 84 and 85 to finish with a 169 (+25).

Augustana will host the Augustana Fall Invitational on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29 at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D.
