Augustana Women’s Golf Signs Three for 2021-22

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana women's golf team had three student-athletes sign their National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic and academic careers at Augustana, head coach Coralee Jorgensen announced Thursday. 

Annika Stensrud | Glenwood, Minnesota | Minnewaska Area High School

Jorgensen on Stensrud: "Annika fits into the women's golf culture of working hard and never giving up in order to reach a goal. She is a consistent player and will continually improve as her experiences at Augie open up."

High School: Stensrud will graduate from Minnewaska Area High School in May of 2021. During her sophomore campaign, Stensrud averaged 83.5 strokes per round en route to All-Conference and All-State honors. Her team also took home second place at the state tournament. As a freshman, she averaged 87 strokes per round and garnered All-Conference honors. 

Personal: Stensrud was born in Alexandria, Minnesota, to parents Carrie and Todd Stensrud. She enjoys reading, paddle boarding, boating, playing pickleball, drawing and painting. While at Augustana, she plans to major in biology and minor in psychology.

Shannon McCormick | Sioux Falls, South Dakota | O'Gorman High School

Jorgensen on McCormick:
"We are pleased to have Shannon join the women's golf team.  She is a proven player, a champion and a confident person. Shannon is an ACE participant in First Tee-South Dakota and demonstrates life skills that are reflected in her golf game."

High School: McCormick will graduate from O'Gorman High School in May of 2021. As a sophomore, she captured 2019 AA Individual Medalist honors while helping her team to its third-consecutive state championship.

Personal: McCormick was born to parents Kara and Pete McCormick. She has one sibling and plans to major in computer science while at Augustana.

Masy Mock | Mitchell, South Dakota | Mitchell High School

Jorgensen on Mock: "We are excited to welcome Masy to the women's golf program.  She hits a long ball and is accurate; two great assets for a collegiate golfer!"

High School: Mock will graduate from Mitchell High School in May of 2021. During her sophomore campaign, Mock placed third at the AA State Golf Tournament and garnered ESD All-Conference honors. As a freshman, she earned ESD All-Conference honors as well. 

Personal: Mock was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to parents Stacy and Craig Mock. She has one older sibling, Sam Mock of the Augie men's golf team and plans to major in communication disorders and Spanish while at Augustana.
