SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference unveiled the newest iteration of the 2021 men's and women's basketball schedules Friday. The updated schedules allow for teams to limit travel, specifically with Augustana playing only South Division opponents in conference action.
 
In addition, each team will play every opponent on Friday, followed by a contest against the same opponent Saturday to help mitigate COVID-19 exposure.
 
The men's and women's basketball schedules are a 16-game slate played over eight weeks. After a nonconference weekend at MSU Moorhead, the Vikings will begin a 14-game NSIC schedule against South Division opponents only. The NSIC will only crown Division Champions in 2021.
 
Augustana opens the NSIC season inside the Sanford Pentagon against Minnesota State on Jan. 8 & 9. Following a road trip to Concordia-St. Paul (Jan. 15 & 16), the Vikings return to Heritage Court inside the Sanford Pentagon on Jan. 22 & 23 against Winona State.
 
The Vikings are then on the road for two-straight weekends, traveling to Upper Iowa (Jan. 29 & 30) followed by a pair of contests at Southwest Minnesota State (Feb. 5 & 6).
 
The regular season concludes with four-straight games at home, first against Sioux Falls on Feb. 12 & 13. The NSIC schedule concludes with Wayne State on Feb. 19 & 20.
 
All Friday contests have a 5:30 p.m. start for women's games and a 7:30 p.m. start for men's games. All Saturday and Sunday contests are 3:30/5:30 p.m.

With a schedule now in place, Augustana will be finalizing plans in the near future for spectator attendance and changes to the fan experience. Decisions will continue to be driven by our commitment to the health and safety of all members of the Augustana community. Additional conference, region and state guidelines will also be reflected in plans, which will be communicated to all fans once finalized.
 
The NSIC will release preseason polls in mid-December along with Preseason Players of the Year, student-athletes to watch and team previews.
