BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana's
Tyler Riemersma has been named an NSIC First Team All-Conference selection the conference office announced Thursday. The all-league accolade is the first of his career.

Riemersma, hailing from Bloomington, Minnesota, averaged a double-double of 13.9 points and 10.9 rebounds over the 22-game conference season. He is the only player in the NSIC to average a double-double, not only during the conference season but the entire season with his averages of 12.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.

A force not only on offense when scoring but he also ranks third in the nation with 4.5 offensive rebounds per game. In all, he is eighth in the nation with 10.3 rebounds per outing while setting the NSIC record with 239 rebounds during the NSIC season.

Riemersma concluded the 28-game regular season leading the Vikings in points per game (12.9) and rebounds (10.3). He shot 49.8-percent from the field while adding 31 steals and 19 blocks.

He set a career-high with 29 points against Northern State on Jan. 17 and recorded 23 rebounds against UMary on Feb. 1. The 23 rebounds are the second-most in a single-game in school history.

Riemersma and the rest of the Vikings return to the hardwood Saturday for the quarterfinal round of the NSIC Tournament. Augustana plays Northern State at noon with tickets available at the Sanford Pentagon Box Office.
