AUSTIN, Texas – Augustana junior Tyler Riemersma was voted to the Academic All-America Men's Basketball team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Riemersma, a member of the third team, becomes the fifth Viking men's basketball player to earn the honor.
 
The native of Bloomington, Minnesota, owns a 3.86 GPA while majoring in data science and was previously named a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 team.
 
Riemersma, a First Team All-NSIC selection, was a double-double machine in 2019-20, averaging 12.5 points and 10.4 rebounds per outing. He set an NSIC record with 239 rebounds over the 22-game league slate. He recorded a game of 23 rebounds, which marked the second-most in Augustana history.
 
He scored in double digits in 15 games while securing double-digit rebounds in 16 contests. His 313 total rebounds this year rank third all-time in program history.
 
Riemersma's Academic All-America accolade is the 71^st all-time for Augustana.
