ST. CLOUD, Minn.-- Augustana soccer traveled northeast and defeated the St. Cloud State Huskies on Friday evening. The final score from the bout was 3-1.
Senior forward Alexis Legg got the Vikings started with a goal that was 17 minutes into the first half. Legg snuck one past the goalkeeper after a solid pass from Sylvia Fehr.
Morgan Keirstead then netted two goals in the second half, bringing her total goal count to five this season. Keirstead, a senior, was able to sneak the ball past St. Cloud's goalkeeper into the lower left corner of the net. The second goal by Keirstead on the night was high and left after Fehr sent the ball from the top right corner of the penalty box.
The assists bring Fehr's total to 12 on the season, the nation's leader in NCAA Division II. Fehr has set two Augustana soccer records this season: individual record for assists in a game and individual record for assists in a season.
St. Cloud was able to respond to one of AU's goals, denying the Vikings the shutout. The goal was scored in the 60th minute of the second half.
The Vikings tallied 12 shots in the game, with seven of them landing on goal. The Huskies followed with 16 shots, nine of them being on goal.
Goalkeeper Jillian Barkus was able to hold it down in the backfield after making eight saves in the 90 minutes of play.
