About the Game
For the 8-2 Vikings, it is simple. A win and you are the NSIC Champions. Southwest Minnesota State is a team that Augustana has controlled over the years to the tune of 21 wins against just three losses. The Mustangs enter having lost five-straight games.

About the Mustangs
Southwest Minnesota State enters at 2-8 following a 52-0 loss last week at Minnesota State. The Mustangs two wins of the year have come over Concordia-St. Paul and Upper Iowa. They have lost their last five games and are in sixth place in the NSIC South.

Junior running back Jesse Sherwood has been a force for the Mustangs' offense all season, running for over 80 yards a game and finding the endzone six times on the ground. Zeke Robinson is the Mustangs top target through the air. With 21 catches for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Mustangs defense currently ranks tenth in the NSIC, giving up 418.4 yards per game. They rank eleventh in the NSIC giving up 34.5 points per game.

About the Vikings
Augustana is 8-2, and wisdom would say that a win equals a home football game for Augustana. The high-powered offense averages 38 points per game a mark that ranks 15th in the nation. The defense gives up 22.9 points per game, ranking third in the NSIC.

Kyle Saddler tosses for 290.3 yards per game while Jarod Epperson leads the rushing attack at 88.2 yards per outing. Sean Engel is the top target for wide receivers with his 4.7 receptions per game and 12 total touchdowns.

Defensively, the Vikings are led by T.J. Liggett and his 4.8 solo tackles and 7.6 total tackles per game. Grayson Diepenbrock records a tackle for loss per game while Liggett is just shy of a tackle for loss per game at 0.9.

One Last Thing
Augustana needs only a win to capture its first NSIC Championship and first conference championship since 1959. A win also grants Augustana an NSIC South Division Championship. Kirkeby-Over Stadium is the place to win a game as the Vikings hold the nation's second-longest home winning streak at 10 games.
