BISMARCK, N.D. -- The Augustana women's tennis team capped off its conference weekend with another sweep, this time coming against MSU Moorhead. The Vikings won 7-0 on Sunday morning at the Capitol Racquet and Fitness Center in Bismarck, North Dakota.
The Vikings move to 10-1 on the season while the Dragons fall to 7-2.
In doubles action, the freshmen duo of Valeriya Monko and Florentia Hadjigeorgiou defeated their opponent at No. 1 doubles, 6-3.
The No. 2 and No. 3 slots for the Vikings also found convincing wins with Laura Arce Vieyra and Grace Goble winning 6-1 and Aleksandra Kistanova and Emily Granson winning 6-2.
Hadjigeorgiou was the lone Viking to claim a double-bagel in the No. 2 slot, going 6-0, 6-0.
Valeriya secured another victory to keep her collegiate win streak alive, besting the Dragons Julia Geske, 6-2, 6-3.
Arce Vieyra went 6-2, 6-1, in her win at the No. 3 slots.
Freshman Margarita Chouliara won No. 5 singles in the closest match of the day 6-4, 6-2.
Sophomores Kistanova and Granson added to their win columns in No. 4 singles and No. 6 singles going 6-1, 6-0, and 6-1, 6-2 respectively.
The Vikings will return to action Wednesday facing the College of Charleston in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The match is slated for a 2 p.m. start as part of their spring break competition.
