Augustana Women’s Golf Finishes Tied for Tenth at MWSU Holiday Inn Express Invitational

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Augustana women's golf team finished up its second tournament of the season Tuesday afternoon at the MWSU Holiday Inn Express Invitational in St. Joseph, Missouri. 

As a team, Augustana jumped up one spot from day-one to day-two and finished in a tie for tenth-place with Nebraska-Kearney. Of the seven NSIC schools competing, Augustana finished second only to Sioux Falls. 

Individually, the Vikings were led by senior Natalie Young and freshman Lauren Tims. Young and Tims both finished in a tie for 21st place with two-day scores of 166. 

Young shaved eight strokes off of her one day total (87 to 79) and jumped up 21 spots from day-one to day-two. Tims knocked four strokes off of her day one total (85 to 81) and moved up five spots from day-one to day-two. 

Senior Alex Stone followed the pair with a two-day score of 173. Stone improved by five strokes (89 to 84) from day-one to day-two. 

Sophomore Molly Stevens followed Stone with a two-day score of 174.

The Vikings next compete in the Newman Invite Tuesday and Wednesday at the Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas.
