SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana men's tennis team couldn't upset a tough opponent in Northwest Missouri State, falling 7-0 on Sunday at the Huether Tennis Centre.
The Bearcats, ranked No. 19 in NCAA Division II, moves to 15-2. Augustana completes its season at 4-8.
Although the Vikings lost the match, there were high moments for the hometown crowd to get involved in. In No. 2 doubles, senior Eden Mrozek and junior Jakson Stoutamire almost upset Martin Sanchez and Sawyer Nickel coming up just shy in a 7-6 affair.
In No. 1 singles, sophomore Cade Damgaard also took his opponent to a tiebreaker before being defeated by Andrea Zamurri.
The match ended the careers of North Knewtson and Mrozek as they exhaust their NCAA eligibility.
