Augustana Women’s Golf Places Second at Augustana Spring Invite

Four Vikings Place in Top-Ten

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana women's golf team concluded its regular season with a second-place finish in the home-hosted Augustana Spring Invite at Elmwood Golf Course Sunday afternoon. The Vikings also placed their top-four golfers in the top-ten on the weekend. 

Sophomore Molly Stevens led the Vikings with a second-place finish at the tournament. Stevens turned in rounds of 73 and 76 for a total of 149 at the tournament. The sophomore now has three top-10 finishes and two top-five finishes, both of which have been back-to-back second-place finishes. 

Senior Natalie Young followed Stevens with a fourth-place finish. Young golfed a 78 on day one, before posting a season-best round of 74 on day two for a total of 152. For Young, it's her second-consecutive top-10 finish. 

Fellow Senior Alex Stone tied for seventh place at the tournament with a two-day score of 156. Stone shaved four strokes off of her day one total (80 to 76) on day two and also recorded a top-10 finish for the second-consecutive tournament. 

Freshman Lauren Tims placed 10th with a two-day score of 157. For Tims, it's her second-consecutive top-10 finish on the season as well. 

Junior Hanna Morin tied for 11th and posted a 79 each day for a total of 158. Both of Morin's rounds were season lows. 

Freshman Rachel Schwarz, junior Kait Asklund, freshman Rachel Halvorson and sophomore Sophia Salter all competed as individuals in the tournament. 

Schwarz finished with a two-day score of 166 and was followed by Asklund who turned in a score of 169. Halvorson finished with a two-day score of 175 while Salter finished with a 185.

The Vikings head to Morton, Minnesota, next weekend to compete in the NSIC Championships at the Dacotah Ridge Golf Course.
