4/22/2021 12:10:00 PM

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana women's golf team begins postseason play this weekend at the NSIC Championships in Morton, Minnesota, at the Dacotah Ridge Golf Club.

The tournament consists of three rounds with 18 holes of golf on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Golfing commences at 9 a.m. each day.

The course spans 5,906 yards with a par of 72. Full course details can be found here. Live scoring for the event can be found on GoAugie.com/Live

The team with the lowest stroke total after the 54 holes will be the NSIC Tournament Champion and receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Regional Tournament. The five golfers with the lowest stroke total for the conference tournament will be All-Tournament Team.

The Vikings, winners of nine of the last ten NSIC Championships, were picked to win the NSIC in the preseason women's golf coaches' poll. Coming into the NSIC Championships in 2021, Augustana has earned second-place in its previous two tournaments while golfing its best three rounds of the year.

Those rounds took place at the Augustana Spring Invite and the Wildcat Classic. Augustana shot a 305 (+17) at both tournaments, tying for the best rounds of the year, and also shot a 308 (+20) at the Augustana Spring Invite for its third-best round of the year.

Individually, sophomore Molly Stevens leads the Vikings with an average of 79.90 strokes per round this season. After finishing in second-place at the Wildcat Classic and Augustana Spring Invite, the sophomore now has two top-five finishes and three top-10 finishes on the season.

She also owns the lowest round of the season for the Vikings with a 72 in the first round of the Wildcat Classic. Stevens par also doubles as her lowest career round. Her ninth-place finish at the Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational also earned her NSIC Golfer of the Week honors early in the season.

Seniors Alex Stone and Natalie Young and freshman Lauren Tims have also put together strong resumes during the 2021 season. All three golfers have earned one top-five finish and two top-10 finishes this season.

Stone also took home NSIC Golfer of the Week honors after her 14th-place finish at the Newman Invite earlier in the season.
