CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- The WGCA named 1,432 women's collegiate golfers with the prestigious honor of All-American Scholar the association announced Tuesday. Among those golfers, the Vikings had four student-athletes make the All-American team in Lauren Tims, Molly Stevens, Natalie Young and Alex Stone.
This is the fourth time Stone has achieved the award, the third time Young has achieved the award and the second time Stevens has achieved this award.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
Tims, a Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native, earned First Team All-NSIC honors this past spring. She also earned NSIC All-Tournament Team honors after tying for third-place at the NSIC Championships. Her season low came at the Newman Invite where she shot a 73 in the second round.
Stevens, hailing from Northfield, Minnesota, led the Vikings in scoring average with a 79.50, while having five top-10 finishes, two of which were top-five finishes. Her season low was when she shot 72 in the first round of the Wildcat Classic.
Young, coming from Rapid City, South Dakota, earned NSIC All-Tournament Team honors after frying for third-place at the NSIC Championships. Her season low was shot at the Augustana Spring Invite where she shot 74 in the second round.
Stone, a native of Crosslake, Minnesota, earned NSIC All-Tournament Team honors after placing fifth at the NSIC Championships. Her season low shot of 72 was recorded in the first round of the NSIC Championships.
