SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – It's a doubleheader weekend for the Augustana men's basketball team as the Vikings play host to MSU Moorhead on Friday and Northern State on Saturday.

Augustana is 11-2 on the season and 5-2 in the NSIC, holding down second place in the NSIC South Division and is in third place of the overall NSIC standings based on winning percentage. The Dragons and Wolves are amongst a four-way tie for third place in the NSIC North Division and are amongst eight teams holding a .500 record in the overall NSIC standings.
About the Dragons
MSU Moorhead enters Friday's contest holding a 9-8 overall record while sitting 4-4 in the NSIC, all against North Division opponents. The Dragons are coming off an 83-80 double-overtime loss to Northern State this past Sunday.
Gavin Baumgartner leads MSUM in scoring at 12.2 points while Lorenzo McGhee and Bryce Irsfeld are at 10.6 points per outing. Dane Zimmer tallies a team-high 7.8 rebounds.
For the season, the Dragons tally 80.4 points per game while giving up 74.1 per outing. They shoot nearly 47 percent from the field and hold a +3.3 rebounding edge.
About the Wolves
Northern State enters the weekend at 10-6 overall and 4-4 within the NSIC. The Wolves came out on top in the aforementioned double-overtime contest with the 83-80 win over MSU Moorhead. Jacksen Moni was named the NSIC North Division Player of the Week after scoring 26 points in the win including hitting 6-of-9 3-point field goals.
For the year, Jordan Belka is the leading scorer at 14.9 points per game but is followed closely by Moni at 14.8. Belka also leads the squad with 6.9 rebounds per game.
The Wolves score 76.0 points per game while giving up 69.6 points per outing. They shoot 45.6 percent from the field and hold a +2.0 rebound margin.
About the Vikings
Augustana has been one of the best teams in the NSIC in 2021-22 and has either been in the Top-25 or received votes in the Top-25 all season long. With an 11-2 record, the Vikings own the third-most wins in the NSIC.
The Vikings are coming off a 71-55 win over the reigning NSIC South Division Champion Wildcats of Wayne State. The Vikings shot 53.7 percent from the field in the game and a red-hot 61.5 percent from 3-point land.

Adam Dykman all chipped in 12 points.
Tyler Riemersma totaled 10 rebounds and eight assists in the game.
For the year, Riemersma averages 17.2 points and 10.6 rebounds per outing to lead AU in both categories. Also with a double-digit point average are Fink (16.0), LeBrun (11.8) and Dykman (11.0). As a team, Augustana scores 75.9 points per outing while holding opponents to 63.7.
One Last Thing
Augustana has had just one back-to-back in NSIC play, much in thanks to the cancellation of the Winona State game on Dec. 18. That back-to-back weekend was a home sweep against Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State. The Vikings will be looking to replicate the sweep this weekend.
