SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana volleyball team is set to travel to the state of Minnesota to take on the No. 3 Golden Bears of Concordia-St. Paul on Friday and the Mavericks of Minnesota State on Saturday. Friday night's match is slated for a 6 p.m. start while Saturday's serve will be at 2 p.m.
This weekend is the finale to the NSIC regular season before the NSIC Tournament begins Thursday Nov. 10 in St. Paul, Minnesota. To make things simple, one win on the weekend secures a spot in the NSIC Tournament for the Vikings.

The Golden Bears
No. 3 Concordia-St. Paul is coming off a weekend where they took down No. 7 SMSU in five sets while falling to Sioux Falls 2-3. Prior to their loss to USF the Golden Bears were on a 16-game win streak.
The Golden Bears offense is led by Jasmine Mulhivill with 371 kills and 439 points. While the Golden Bears defense is led by Ellie Sieling with 308 digs and Katie Mattson with 85 blocks.
The Mavericks
Minnesota State is coming off a weekend where they were swept by both No. 7 SMSU and Sioux Falls at home.
The Maverick offense is led by Sophie Tietz with 203 kills and 270 points. The Minnesota State defense is led by Ellie Klien with 228 digs and Kiya Durant with 103 blocks.
The Vikings
Augustana is coming off a weekend of wins at home where they rallied in two five-set thrillers against Upper Iowa and Winona State. Seniors Kate Reimann and Maddy Guetter reached career milestones with Reimann delivering her 600th kill as a Viking and Guetter hammering down her 1,000th.
Overall, the Vikings are led by Guetter with 331 kills and 404.5 points. Guetter continues to lead the NSIC in total aces with 48 and aces per set with .51. Reimann follows Guetter with 286 kills and 318.5 points. Senior Avery Thorson put up 66 assists this weekend in the match against Upper Iowa accomplishing a career high. Thorson has totalled 962 assists this season with 10.34 a set.
Erika Bute leads the Augustana defense with 491 digs and continues to lead the NSIC in digs per set with 5.17 and total digs with 491. Senior Piper Asche helps protect the Viking court with 81 blocks on the season.
One Last Thing
There are four Vikings who have accomplished career milestones in the past two weeks. Erika Bute surpassed her 1500th dig, Avery Thorson completed her 4000th assist, Maddy Guetter reached 1000 kills and Kate Reimann has completed more than 600 kills while at Augustana.
