SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana's Tyler Riemersma is the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team Member of the Year for NCAA Division II. Riemersma, now a three-time Academic All-America selection, is the fifth student-athlete at Augustana to earn Team Member of the Year honors.

Riemersma, hailing from Bloomington, Minnesota, earned his undergraduate degree in data science with a 3.9 GPA and currently holds a 4.0 in his master's degree of Sport Administration Leadership.

On the basketball court, Riemersma is the NSIC South Division Player of the Year in 2022 while averaging 18.1 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. He is the only player in the NSIC to average a double-double this year, and has accomplished the feat for three-straight years. He has Augustana ranked No. 6 in the country, helped lead it to an NSIC Championship as the Vikings play for an NCAA Central Region Championship Tuesday night.

Riemersma is one of two NSIC student-athletes on the three Academic All-America teams and the only first-team honoree. In 2019-20, Riemersma earned third team honors and was a second-team honoree a year ago. He is now a First Team Academic All-America honoree and highlights as the Team Member of the Year.

Riemersma joins a group of Augustana alumni that includes Jacob Blank (2018), Kirby Hora (2018), Kendall Cornick (2021) and David Gubbrud (1988 and 1989) as Team Member of the Year.

The Division II Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Division II Academic All-America program.
