KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Augustana's
Tyler Riemersma has been selected to participate in the 2022 NABC – Reese's Division II College All-Star Game, to be held Friday. The contest tips off at 6 p.m. in Evansville, Indiana, the site of the 2022 NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
Riemersma, a consensus All-America selection, is one of 15 senior players selected for the event. From the NSIC, Joe Smoldt joins Riemersma in the event, however they will still be competitors as they are on opposite teams.
Hailing from Bloomington, Minnesota, Riemersma ended a stellar campaign as the NSIC South Division Player of the Year after averaging 18.1 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. He was a six-time NSIC Player of the Week, named to the NABC and D2CCA All-Region Teams and earned All-America honors from D2CCA and the NABC.
Riemersma joins Cameron McCaffrey and
Cody Schilling as former AU players to have played in the NABC All-Star Game. McCaffrey played in the 2013 event while Schilling was in the 2012 event. In addition, former Augustana head coach and director of athletics, Bill Gross, coached the event in 2017.
