KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the fifth time, Augustana has an NABC All-America student-athlete. Tyler Riemersma becomes the fourth player (fifth total honor) to earn All-America honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
 
Riemersma's trophy case has expanded in the past couple of weeks as he was named a D2CCA All-American on Monday, the Academic All-America Team Member of the Year, the NSIC South Division Player of the Year to go along with D2CCA and NABC All-Region honors.
 
The Bloomington, Minnesota, native averaged a double-double for the third-straight season with 18.1 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. He is the only NSIC player to average the feat in 2021-22. In fact, of the three years he averaged a double-double, two of them he was the only NSIC player for that average.
 
One of the best players to ever come through the Augustana program, Riemersma played in 89 games for AU, scoring 1,316 points and grabbing 918 rebounds. His rebound total ranks him fourth all-time at Augustana while his point total has him 16^th.
 
The 2021-22 campaign saw Riemersma lead Augustana to a Top-10 national ranking for much of the second half of the season after entering the year unranked while the Vikings won the NSIC Championship. The Vikings finished the season with a 26-4 record and a No. 1 ranking in the NCAA Central Region.
 
To get to his 18.1 points per game, the forward shot the ball at a 57.3 percent clip. His 19 double-doubles rank him sixth in NCAA Division II while his 323 rebounds have him ranked eighth in the nation.
 
Riemersma joins a list of Cameron McCaffrey, Daniel Jansen and Casey Schilling on the NABC All-America list. All four individuals have earned the honor, considered the top All-America team in Division II, under head coach Tom Billeter.
