HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Augustana junior
Molly Stevens is in a tie for sixth place after the opening round of the NCAA Division II Central Region Championship taking place in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The 2022 NSIC Golfer of the Year shot a 2-over-par 74 for her placing.

As a team, the NSIC Champions are in a tie for seventh place with 318 strokes.

"We had a rough start this morning with lighting and rain and it shows in some of our scores," Augustana head coach
Coralee Jorgensen said. "Molly was steady all day. With a birdie chip facing her on the last hole, we got called off the course…again!

"Two hours later, we went back to the course to finish the hole and she lipped out the chip. It was so close! The team will be ready for a new day Tuesday!"

Stevens shot an even-par on par-3 and par-5 holes and holds the tournament lead with 16 pars through the first 18 holes.

Lauren Tims entered the clubhouse second for the Vikings and in a tie for 32
nd overall after totaling 80 strokes in the round. She recorded 11 pars and a birdie through her first tour of the course.

Masy Mock marks in third on the Vikings' scorecard with 81 strokes while
Natalie Young's 83 strokes show her in a tie for 44
th. The final Viking through the course was
Shannon McCormick with 89 strokes.

Rogers State holds the team lead after 18 holes with 296 strokes while the duo of Susana Olivares of Central Oklahoma and Allycia Gan of Missouri Western hold the individual lead with 70 shots after 18 holes.
