MOORHEAD, Minn.--Augustana soccer defeated the MSU Moorhead Dragons in a high-scoring matchup Friday afternoon, 4-3. The Vikings improve to 2-3-1 overall and 2-1 in NSIC play. MSU Moorhead drops to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in conference action.
The Vikings were throwing everything they had at the Dragons early in the game, logging 18 total shots with 10 shots on goal in just the first half. Augustana finished the game with a season-high 16 shots on goal and 31 total shots. MSU Moorhead was held to just seven shots on goal and 11 total shots.

GOAL (AU) 24'- Josie Arduser scored her second goal of the season and the first of the game for the Vikings. Arduser received a cross from Sylvia Fehr that was placed perfectly, allowing Arduser to put the Vikings up 1-0 early.
GOAL (AU) 32'- Augustana increased its lead in the first half after Ellie Schock sent one to the back of the net from midfield. Schock's goal was assisted by Annika Bard.
GOAL (MSUM) 49'- MSU Moorhead got on the board in the second half, sending the ball into the low right corner of the net.
GOAL (AU) 58'- Morgan Keirstead took a low right shot that passed the MSU Moorhead goalkeeper, tallying her third goal of the 2022 season.
GOAL (MSUM) 63'- The Dragons were able to score on a penalty kick after drawing a foul in the box. Ava Keiser netted her first of the season, but Augustana added another goal just a minute later.
GOAL (AU) 64'- Schock netted her second of the game, pushing the Viking's lead further over the Dragons. Keirstead picked up an assist on the goal.
GOAL (MSUM) 83'- Kylie Autry sent the Dragons into a late push, scoring with just seven minutes remaining in the second half. MSUM was unable to even the score, and Augustana earned the victory.
One More Thing
Sylvia Fehr became the Augustana soccer career assists leader after adding her 20th career assist on Arduser's goal in the first half. Fehr totaled 15 assists last season, a single season record, and four assists in 2019, to enter 2022 tied for the career record at 19. The assist in today's game is her first of the 2022 season. She surpassed Stephanie Goos who played for the Vikings from 2007-10.
