Soccer Looks to Continue Offensive Momentum on the Road

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana soccer crosses state lines for a pair of NSIC conference opponents with a Friday battle against Bemidji State at 6 p.m. and a Sunday affair against Minnesota-Crookston at 1 p.m.

The Beavers 
Fresh off a 3-0 win over Minot State, BSU holds a season record of 8-1-4 and conference record of 6-1-2 with impressive results over conference opponents in St. Cloud State and Winona State. 

Sophomore forward Katrina Barthelt leads the NSIC in a handful of statistical categories including goals per game with an average of .69 while also leading the conference in points per game with 1.54. Barthelt tallied two goals in Bemidji's 3-0 win over Minot State. 

Bemidji has one of the highest scoring offenses in the conference as it averages 1.92 goals per game. The Beavers' are projecting 14.08 shots per game with an on goal average of 6.54. 

The Golden Eagles
Senior goalkeeper Abby Olsen comes into the matchup ranked third in the nation with a  conference-high 9.83 saves per game. Olsen stands tall in the net for the (0-13,0-9) Golden Eagles who have struggled to find consistency on the offensive side of the ball. 

Crookston played a close one with Minot State back in early September by a score of 2-1. Senior Madelyn Teplansky netted the lone goal in the affair. 

The Vikings
Augustana soccer (7-4-2, 5-3-1) is coming off an offensive packed weekend where the Vikings netted seven goals while only allowing one. Annika Bard was named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week after recording four points.

Hope Korte continues to lead Viking Soccer with her tremendous offensive season as she's ranked third in the conference in game-winning goals with three, goals per game with .46, and points per game with 1.08. Coming into the season Korte had only tallied one career point, in the 2023 season she has 14 points by way of six goals and two assists. 

Jillian Barkus has been a force between the pipes as she's ranked third in the conference with six. Barkus holds a career record of 32-15-6.
