SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Augustana Vikings concluded its regular season on Friday night, falling 25-15, 18-25, 25-21, 25-19 to St. Cloud State University inside the Elmen Center.
The Vikings shift to 11-16 overall and 8-10 in the NSIC, while the Huskies jump to 20-6 overall and 13-4 NSIC. The match was the final at the Elmen Center for

Sydney Tims had 10 kills and six blocks.
Maya Wente helped with the front line, adding five blocks, and
Lucy Bartee had 42 assists and 12 digs from the setter position.

After the Vikings took a 3-2 lead in set one, the Huskies answered, scoring the next four points and 14 of the next 17 to take a 18-7 lead. After a 6-0 Viking run that included a trio of Jansen aces, SCSU scored three of the next four to lead 21-14. Hohenhaus cut the run with a kill, but the Huskies scored the final four points to take a 1-0 lead.
In set two, the Vikings scored three of the first four points before the Huskies jumped ahead with a lead that would hold until 17-16. Three Kriener kills and a Bartee ace helped power a 5-0 run to give the Vikings a lead. Following an SCSU point, Kriener, Hohenhaus, and Tims jolted a 4-0 run to close the set and even the match at 1-1.
Six of the first eight points went to the Huskies in set three. That lead would end up getting erased, with a Tims and Hohenhaus block and a pair of Wente kills leading a 5-0 run to give AU a 7-6 lead.
Neither team could put a run together until a pair of Tims kills led a 4-0 run to give the Vikings a lead at 16-12. The Huskies battled back to tie the match at 19-19, and then scored six of the final seven points after a Bartee block to take set three.
The Huskies followed it up with an 8-1 barrage to open the fourth set, and led 12-6 in the early stages. AU scored five of the next six points to get within 13-11 before a seesaw battle. AU kept within two at 21-19, but a 4-0 SCSU run concluded the regular season for the Vikings.
AU now must wait until Saturday afternoon to find out their destiny, as they remain alive depending on results from Saturday matches.
