BEMIDJI, Minn. – Viking Soccer (9-7-3) opened up Monday afternoon's playoff affair in the 67th minute before conceding a goal in the 86th minute which forced overtime with Bemidji State (10-3-6). The Beavers capitalized in extra time to secure the win by a score of 2-1.

In a battle between two strong programs, Augustana's own Hope Korte opened up the contest in the 67th minute to take a 1-0 advantage over the Beavers. Korte's goal came from deep as she wired in a powerful goal from 28 yards out.

BSU didn't bow out as it scored one past Jillian Barkus in the 86th minute to force extra time in the playoff matchup. It was early into the second frame of extra's that Kenzie Harer played hero to secure the Beavers win. 

Augustana's NSIC Tournament run has come to an end but it will await its fate in a hope to clinch a spot in the NCAA Regional Tournament. The NCAA Division II Selection Show is slated for Monday, Nov. 13.

CHANCE (BSU) 10' - Katrina Barthelt opened up the scoring chances with a shot out the top of the woodwork as the Beavers looked to take an early lead. 

CHANCE (AU) 14' - Annika Bard opened up the shooting with a shot on goal in the 14th minute but Bard's shot was saved as it made its way to the top of the net. 

CHANCE (AU) 41' - Sierra Barkus made quick work of the defense but was denied a shot to the middle of the soccer net. Barkus followed up her chance with a shot in the following minutes but was denied again. 

GOAL (AU) 67' - The deadlock broke in the 67th minute as Korte opened herself up in the offensive zone and fired in a laser past the goalkeeper's diving save. Korte recorded her seventh goal of the season on the play. 

CHANCE (BSU) 69'-76' - The Beavers awoke after a handful of subs were made as they recorded a total of five shots in the span of seven minutes. Within BSU's mirage of shots, two of them were denied by Jillian Barkus. 

GOAL (BSU) 86' - Lauren Hodny squared the game at 1-1 with a shot from deep as the Beavers forced overtime. 

CHANCE (AU) 97' - Lily Peterson tallied the first shot on goal of extra time as she fired one towards the bottom left quadrant of the net. 

GOAL (BSU) 104' - Harer played hero with a perfectly placed shot to the back of the woodwork to give the Beavers a 2-1 lead. 

CHANCE (AU) 105' - Augustana made a handful of subs in an effort to force penalty kicks but BSU walked away with the win and a spot against St. Cloud State in the NSIC semifinals.
