SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana men's swimming & diving squad travels to Holland, Michigan, to compete at the GLIAC Championships Wednesday through Saturday. The championships will be hosted by Grand Valley State, Davenport and Northern Michigan. The four-day event will be held at the Holland Aquatic Center.
The swimming prelims will take place each day at 10 a.m. and the finals begin at 5:30 p.m. There will be a live stream and live results available at GoAugie.com/Live.
The Vikings enter the meet with three individuals with top-5 times within the GLIAC so far this season. Pedro Borin, Mason Kauffeld and Isaac Rokusek made monumental strides at the Augustana Invitational this season to claim top-marks in the conference.
Borin is a highlighted returner for the Vikings, following his historic performance last season. In 2022, Borin became the first Viking ever to win a GLIAC Champion title in its inaugural season. With a first-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 1:47.79, Borin earned a trip to the NCAA DII Championships in just his first year at AU. He is currently ranked fourth in the conference in the 100 fly with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 48.62.
Kauffeld returns in his second year with AU following his trip to the GLIAC 200 breast finals a season ago. He has been a vital swimmer for Augustana this season, breaking a school record in the 200 breast with a time of 2:02.84 at the Augustana Invitational. His performance in the event ranks him at fifth in the league. Kauffeld also ranks third in the GLIAC in the 100 individual medley recording a time of 52.93.
Being in just his first season at AU, Rokusek joins Kauffeld in the 100 IM rankings seeing a runner up placement in the conference with a time of 52.17. In just his first season, Rolusek holds the AU school record in the 100 IM while also joining the 200 medley quartet with a time of 1:33.98.
