ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Augustana softball team split with St. Cloud State Saturday with a 4-1 loss and a 9-2 game two victory. Augustana enters the final day of the regular season on Sunday with a 34-13 overall record and 21-5 in the NSIC. St. Cloud State is 31-17, 15-7.

Game One: St. Cloud State 4, Augustana 1
The Huskies scored three of their four runs in the second inning on a pair of singles. The fourth run came on a single in the fifth inning while the Vikings answered back with a double by
Torri Chute in the sixth.

Chute doubled in
Andrea Cain from second base as she was on base from a double of her own. The single run is all the Vikings were able to score in the contest while totaling six hits.

Of the Vikings' six hits, two were from the bat of
Liz Dierks while the other four came from Cain, Chute,
Ashton Dorman and
Sydney Herbert.

Hailey Houston started the game for AU while pitching three innings and giving up three runs.
Helene Krage pitched the final three innings giving up three hits and one run.

Game Two: Augustana 9, St. Cloud State 2
The Vikings piled on 14 hits to score nine runs while holding the home team to just two runs.
Lexi Lander twirled the complete game five-hitter while striking out 11 batters. She earned her 15
th win of the season.

The Vikings took a 3-0 lead in the second inning beginning with a two-run double off the bat of
Andrea Cain. She hit in
Kennedy Buckman and
Ashton Dorman.

The next batter,
Gracey Brink, then singled in
Sydney Herbert.
Â
The Huskies answered back in the bottom of the second with their only two runs of the game.

Augustana then piled on four runs in the top of the third inning. Buckman singled through the left side to score
Torri Chute.
Delaney Young then scored on a wild pitch for the 5-2 score, and was quickly 6-2 as Buckman touched home plate due to an error after the wild pitch.

The final run of the inning was scored by
Sydney Herbert crossing home plate with
Gracey Brink batting a ball to the shortstop.

The final two runs came courtesy of a single by Young to score
Abby Lien and a single by Buckman to score Young.

Of the Vikings' 14 hits, two each came from Young, Buckman, Herbert, Dierks and
Ashton Dorman.

Up Next
Augustana travels to Minnesota Duluth for a doubleheader beginning at noon. A sweep by the Vikings would award them their third-straight NSIC Championship. The Bulldogs enter with a one-game lead in the NSIC standings for the final day of NSIC action.
