SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –The Augustana women's golf team opens up play at the NCAA DII National Championships May 16 in Eureka, Missouri. The tournament runs May 16-20 and the Vikings qualified with a second place finish at the NCAA Central Region tournament.

The Vikings
Augustana competed in five events in the spring, finishing in the top-two in all events with two first place finishes, the Augustana Invite and the Wayne State Invite. Molly Stevens has posted the lowest stroke average in the NSIC this season at 75.7. Stevens and Lauren Tims have won at least one event this season while Stevens leads the way with three individual medals.
The Vikings won their third-straight NSIC Championship this season, qualifying for the NCAA Central Region tournament. The win was the 12th NSIC Championship for the Vikings. All five individuals finished in the top-13 at the three-day event.
At the NCAA DII Central Regional, hosted by Aguustana, the Vikings qualified for the national tournament with a second place finish as a team. All five Vikings finished within the top 20 in the field. Molly Stevens and Lauren Tims were Augustana's highest finishers. The trip to the national tournament is the first since the 2017-18 season.
This will be the 12th time Augustana golf has been to a NCAA championship. In 15 seasons, the Vikings qualified two years with at least one individual and nine seasons with a full team.

The Event
The championships will be held May 16-20 at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri and hosted by the University of Missouri, St. Louis. The first three days of the event are stroke play, with the top eight teams moving on to match play for the final day of the tournament.
Last Time Out
The Vikings placed second as a team at the NCAA Central Regional last week. Molly Stevens and Lauren Tims placed in a tie for seventh place. Stevens logged 75 strokes in rounds one and two, then 71 (-1) strokes in round three. Tims totaled 75 (+3), 74 (+2) and 72 strokes to bring her total to 221. Masy Mock placed in a tie for 10th, recording 222 strokes. Shannon McCormick finished with 223 strokes, tying for 12th place. Rounding out the team of five was Lanie Veenendall who logged 226 strokes to place in a tie for 20th. As a team, the Vikings totaled 885 strokes, just eight strokes behind the tournament champion Henderson State.
