BURNSVILLE, Minn.--The Augustana women's golf team cleaned up in the awards category, taking the NSIC Player of the Year, NSIC Newcomer of the Year, NSIC Coach of the Year and three First Team All-NSIC selections. Molly Stevens earned her second-straight NSIC Player of the Year honor, Lanie Veenendall earned the NSIC Newcomer of the Year honor and Coralee Jorgensen earned her third-straight NSIC Coach of the Year.
NSIC Women's Golfer of the Year
Molly Stevens, Sr., Northfield, Minn. / Northfield HS
- Named First Team All-NSIC
- Earned NSIC All-Tournament honors
- Tied for second at the NSIC Championships with a three round total of 229, 13-over-par
- Helped Augustana to its third straight and 12th overall NSIC Championship
- Holds a 75.5 stroke average over 26 rounds of play, best in the NSIC
- Had 10 top-10 finishes, eight top-5 and three medalist honor during the season
- Named NSIC Golfer of the Year for the second season in a row
NSIC Women's Newcomer of the Year
Lanie Veenendall, Fr., New Richmond, Wis. / New Richmond HS
- All-NSIC first team performer
- Finished tied for 11th at NSIC Championships with a three round total of 238, 22-over-par
- Held a 77.5 stroke average over 26 rounds of play, ranking fourth in the NSIC
- Had six top-10 and two top-5 finishes during the season
NSIC Women's Coach of the Year
Coralee Jorgensen, Third Season
- Guided the Vikings to their 12th NSIC Women's Golf Tournament Championship
- Coached three All-NSIC first team performers and two NSIC All-Tournament members this season
- Led the Vikings to a second place finish at NCAA Central Region and berth in the NCAA DII National Championships
- Named NSIC Coach of the Year for the third year in a row
In addition, Lauren Tims joins Stevens and Veenendall on the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team. Tims, from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, finished the regular season with one first place finish, six top-five finishes and seven top-10 finishes. Her stroke average on the season is 77.04 and she has a career stroke average of 78.89.
The Vikings compete at the NCAA Championships this week in Eureka, Missouri.
