SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana women's golf team ended the 2022-23 academic year with the nation's fifth highest GPA to earn the Women's Golf Coaches Associate (WGCA) All-Scholar Team GPA Award. The Vikings team members combined for a team GPA of 3.835.
The Vikings success boasts with all five starters earning a spot on the WGCA All-American Scholar Team. In all, the 2022-23 team consisted of
Rachel Halvorson,
Shannon McCormick,
Masy Mock,
Sophie Pokela,
Rachel Schwarz,
Annika Stensrud,
Molly Stevens,
Lauren Tims and
Lanie Veenendall. The coaching staff was led by three-time NSIC Coach of the Year
Coralee Jorgensen along with
Patty Coddington and Peggy Kirby.
Augustana capped its 2022-23 season by claiming its 12
th NSIC Championship and 13
th overall conference title while placing second at the NCAA Central Regional to advance to the NCAA Championship site.
The WGCA honors the women's collegiate golf programs with the highest Team GPA with the WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award. This award is based on the average GPA for all of the members of the women's team for a specific year and not a cumulative GPA.
