SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana Director of Athletics Josh Morton has announced the addition of Nick Rappuhn to the athletics department as the director of communications. Rappuhn will serve as the primary contact for Augustana hockey, men's and women's tennis, soccer and men's and women's track & field. 
 
Rappuhn, a native of Saginaw, Michigan, spent the past year as an athletic communications assistant at Colgate University where he oversaw the publicity of the Raiders No. 5 ranked women's hockey program. In addition to women's hockey, Rappuhn was responsible for the coverage of men's soccer, cross country, track & field, tennis and rowing.
 
A graduate of Northern Michigan, Rappuhn worked in the athletics communications office as an undergrad, serving as the lead media contact for the men's and women's swimming & diving teams. As part of his coverage, he promoted a national champion. In addition, he traveled with the men's hockey program handling gameday media duties.  
 
He earned his bachelor of science in sports public relations in May of 2022 from Northern Michigan while minoring in communications. He earned a National Runner-Up honor in the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest.
 
Nick and his wife, Hope, have recently moved to Sioux Falls with their puppy, Lucie.
