SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana soccer improved to a 4-3-2 record as it kicked off alumni weekend with a 2-1 Friday night win over UMary on Morstad Field.
A handful of Vikings added their name to the scoresheet throughout the entire 90 minutes as
Annika Bard,
Ally Hamski, Lily Peterson, and
Audrey Parnell recorded points.
AU played an aggressive style of offense in the first half as it recorded five shots to UMary's two.
Jillian Barkus pushed her career record to 29-14-6 after she made two saves.
Match highlights
CHANCE (UMary) 4' - Eli Olsen recorded the first shot of the game on net but Barkus laid out to make the save and keep things all square at zero.
GOAL (AU) 16' - Bard broke the deadlock with a left-footed 30-yard shot to the top left of the woodwork. Bard was assisted by senior captain Peterson.
CHANCE (AU) 32'-35' -
Sierra Barkus and Peterson both recorded shots off set pieces from outside the box.
GOAL (AU) 39'- Augustana's offensive prowess continued as Hamski fired in a laser past the Marauders goalkeeper. Hamski's goal came off a dish from Parnell.
GOAL (UMary) 53' - The Marauders cut the lead in half with a shot past J. Barkus from MaLiah Burke.
