SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Fresh off a 2-0 start, Augustana soccer earned the No. 15 ranking in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll after defeating previously ranked No. 13 Central Missouri and Rogers State over Labor day weekend.
AU, unranked going into the season, defeated UCM by a score of 1-0 Friday night as
Jillian Barkus secured her first clean sheet of the night, making eight saves. The Vikings' carried their momentum into Sunday, beating Rogers State 1-0, as
Hope Korte scored her second goal of the weekend.
The Vikings join one other NSIC team in the national rankings, with No. 8 Minnesota State University - Mankato jumping up 13 spots from last week.
Augustana hits the road for it's first road matchups against Northwest Missouri State, Friday at 5 p.m. and Fort Hays State, Sunday at 1 p.m.
