Augustana Volleyball Prepped for Weekend at Home

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Viking volleyball (9-7 overall, 5-2 NSIC) continues its homestand with two weekend matches, featuring contests against #5 St. Cloud State and #20 Minnesota Duluth inside the Elmen Center.

The Huskies
St. Cloud State (12-2, 6-0 NSIC) comes to Sioux Falls following a three-win week with sweeps of then-No. 15 Minnesota Duluth and then-No. 4 Southwest Minnesota State and a four-set victory over Sioux Falls. Reigning NSIC Player of the Year and AVCA DII National Player of the Year Kenzie Foley is currently leading the attack with 243 kills as setter Emma Berran has dished 568 assists. Keely Kurschner has collected 219 digs with 20 service aces while Hannah Bruskiewicz has tallied 42 total blocks.
 
The Bulldogs
Following losses to SMSU (3-1), Sioux Falls (3-1) and MSU Mankato (3-0), Minnesota Duluth sits with an 8-6 overall record, including a 1-5 conference showing. Maddi Kealy has guided the offense with 314 assists, benefitting Samantha Paulsen, who currently has 153 kills on the season. On the defensive end, Kaylyn Madison has collected 272 digs and Kylie Broten has totaled 49 blocks.
 
The Vikings 
Augustana looks to bounce back after a four-set loss to #7 Southwest Minnesota State inside the Elmen Center on Tuesday night following weekend defeats of Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston.
 
Reagan Jansen sits with 195 kills on the season as Maya Wente is attacking at a .354 hitting percentage for 187 kills. Lucy Bartee has helped guide that offensive attack with her 663 assists while on defense, Gabby Jones has tallied 224 digs and Sydney Tims has collected 75 total blocks.
 
Looking Ahead
Augustana will hit the road on Thursday, Oct. 17 to face Wayne State before returning to Sioux Falls to host Sioux Falls on Saturday, Oct. 19 for Alumni Night.
