Viking Soccer Heads North for a Pair of Games

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana soccer (4-3-1, 3-1) heads up to North Dakota for two games at Minot State and UMary to continue its conference campaign. 

Friday's match against Minot State is set for 6 p.m. with Sunday's match against UMary slated for 1 p.m.

The Beavers
Minot State (3-2-2, 1-2-1) is coming off a weekend split with a loss to Minnesota State  1-0 on Friday and a win over Southwest Minnesota State 1-0 on Sunday. Through two weeks of conference play their lone conference win was over SMSU. 

Redshirt junior defender Sierra Haren has one goal in the year, with a shot-on-goal percentage of .667. Junior, Mia Lewis has tallied two assists for the Beavers, taking one in the win over the Mustangs. 

The Mauraders 
UMary (4-2-1, 2-1-1) opened up conference play with a win over both Minot State 1-0 and Minnesota State University Moorhead 4-0. In week two of conference play, the Mauraders tied SMSU 0-0 and fell to Minnesota State 2-0 the following week. 

The Marauders leading scorer, Rachel Gensch, has found the back of the net three times this season. Senior goalkeeper, Molly Fischer, has made 22 saves during her 619:48 minutes of playing on the pitch. 

The Vikings
Augustana rides a two-game win streak into the weekend after defeating St. Cloud State 1-0 last Friday and Minnesota Duluth 2-0 on Sunday.

Currently in third place in the NSIC standing through two weeks of play. During conference play, junior Ally Hamski has scored two goals including one against UMD. Audrey Parnell has averaged 2.33 shots per game, fifth in the conference, 

The Vikings had two NSIC players of the week; forward Morgan Mancuso and goalkeeper Aaliyah Matthews. Mancuso recorded her first collegiate goal during In Friday's match against SCSU and tallied her second career goal in the Vikings' win over UMD. Matthews continues a strong campaign in the net with back-to-back clean sheets.
