ST. PAUL, Minn. – Augustana women's basketball closely battled with No. 13 Concordia-St. Paul in the first quarter, but ultimately fell in an 80-58 conference contest on Saturday afternoon.
The Vikings fall to 1-9 overall and 0-5 in conference play as the Golden Bears improve their perfect record to 11-0 with a 5-0 NSIC showing.
Brinlee McRae led the Vikings in scoring with her 12 points alongside four rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Uzor Uchidiuno was close behind with 11 points off a perfect 5-of-5 shooting from the field.
Olivia Hayenga pulled down a team-high six rebounds—including five offensive boards—as
Hannah Burg dished out three assists and
Paige Grant logged four blocks.
Augustana shot 50% from the field in the first quarter, including the first bucket of the game. The Golden Bears rattled off nine straight points in response and would hold onto the lead for the rest of the afternoon. Burg broke the drought and triggered a 7-2 run for the Vikings. McRae and Uchidiuno would hit back-to-back buckets within 30 seconds but the home team would remain ahead 19-13 at the quarter break.
Concordia-St. Paul started the second quarter with the hot hand, scoring eight straight points in under three minutes all from Lindsey Becher. Another 11-2 run later on helped the Golden Bears extend the lead as they dropped 29 points total in the quarter off 70.6% shooting from the field and went up 48-24 at the half.
Uchidiuno led the Vikings in the third, scoring seven of her 11 points in the quarter, including five straight in just over two minutes. CSP, though, continued to control the momentum of the game and made eight appearances at the free throw line.
Eva Pardo-Campillo scored her first career points off a shot from behind the arc but CSP would score once more to go up 67-42.
Hayenga and Grant teamed up for a 7-2 mid-way through the period and despite both teams experiencing scoring droughts to start and end the quarter, the Golden Bears continued to push full steam ahead. After an exchange of 3-pointers, the game would end 80-58.

Augustana will return home to host a Thursday doubleheader against Southwest Minnesota on Dec. 19 before heading to Wayne State on Saturday. Games are set to tip at 5:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively.
