SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana women's golf is set to tee off its spring portion of the 2023-24 season as it hosts the Augustana Spring Fling in Palm Desert, California, on Thursday and Friday. The Vikings swing off against the PacWest, CCAA, RMAC, PCSC and Lone Star Conference schools.

The Events
The event will take place over two days beginning on Thursday. Competing against the Vikings will include Chico State, Dominican (California), Hawaii-Hilo, Illinois Wesleyan, Lubbock Christian, Point Loma, Westminster (Utah) and Westmont. 

The Vikings
During the fall, Augustana collected three first-place victories: the Central Region Fall Preview with 601 strokes, the Mustang Invite with 589 shots and the USF Invite with a stroke total of 593. 

During the NCAA Central Region Preview (a different event than the Central Region Fall Preview), Augustana tied for fourth with 603 strokes in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and then rounded out the fall with a third-place finish with 608 strokes at the Midwest Classic. 

2022-23 NSIC Newcomer of the Year and NSIC Champion Lanie Veenendall collected a first-place finish in the Mustang Invite with 144 strokes and an even par for the tournament. 

Molly Stevens, the two-time NSIC Golfer of the Year, collected the lowest round in the fall as she shot 4-under-par in the Midwest Intercollegiate with 66 strokes. Stevens and Veenendall are averaging a score of 74.40 heading into the spring portion.  

Spring Season
Augustana competes in five regular season competitions in the spring with the sixth being the NSIC Championships. The Vikings will host the Augustana Invitational on April 8-9 at Elmwood Golf Course and then hit the road one last time before the coveted NSIC Championship on April 26-28.
