PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Augustana softball team dropped a pair of contests to No. 11 Central Oklahoma on Friday. The Vikings fell in game one, 4-2, then lost by the same difference in a 2-0 setback in the day's second game.

Augustana is now 13-10 on the season while Central Oklahoma, who avenged an earlier loss this season to AU, is 18-6.

Game One: No. 11 Central Oklahoma 4, Augustana 2
The Vikings totaled six hits in the contest and nearly came back from a 4-0 deficit. The Bronchos scored an unearned run in the first inning and followed with three unearned runs in the fifth.

The sixth inning saw Augustana piece momentum together. With
Kennedy Buckman on third base and
Gracey Brink on first,
Ashton Dorman smoked a double into right field to score both runners and cut the lead in half.

After a 1-2-3 top of the seventh, Augustana was able to advance a runner as far as second base, but a sharp lineout ended the game at 4-2.

Of Augustana's six hits,
Desi Cuevas recorded two of them.
Hailey Houston started the game for the Vikings and pitched two innings with just the single unearned run.
Helene Krage tossed the final five innings, allowing just five hits while the runs scored on her were also unearned.

Game Two: No. 11 Central Oklahoma 2, Augustana 0
A single swing of the bat was the only offense to doom Augustana in the second game of the day. The No. 11 Bronchos hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning for the only runs of the game.

Lexi Lander pitched four strong innings while
Haley Grimmius tossed the final two innings allowing just a single hit.

Augustana's lone hit of the game came off the bat of
Kennedy Buckman.
