ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Augustana softball team not only swept St. Cloud State but swept the NSIC weekend with a pair of wins over SCSU Saturday. Augustana won game one 11-4 and topped game two 8-6.

Augustana is now 22-13 on the season and 7-1 in the NSIC. St. Cloud State falls to 20-12, 3-3.

Game One: Augustana 11, St. Cloud State 4
The floodgates opened in the top of the second inning as
Stella Harber singled into right field to score
Gracey Brink. Two batters later, and the bases loaded,
Andrea Cain singled into left-center field to boost the score to 4-0.
Desi Cuevas made the score 5-0 as she singled in Cain.

The final run of a 6-run, 6-hit inning came off the bat of
Kennedy Buckman as she singled in Cuevas.

The Huskies responded in the bottom of the second, first with a two-run home run. With two outs, SCSU scratched a third run across home plate to bring the score to 6-3.

Augustana got a seventh run in the game in the fifth inning.
Ashton Dorman, one pitch after nearly hitting a home run but saw it drift foul by inches hit a single into left field to score
Gracey Brink. Brink was on second base after doubling into right-center field.

Dorman did get her home run in the seventh inning as she hit a two-run shot to center field. The final AU runs of the game was a double from
Andrea Cain to score
Stella Harber and
Liz Dierks.

The Huskies did load the bases and push a run across to make the final score 11-4.

Grace Glanzer pitched all seven innings while striking out three to pick up her 10
th win of 2024. Of Augustana's 15 hits, four came from the bat of Cain with two each from Brink and Dorman.

Game Two: Augustana 8, St. Cloud State 6
St. Cloud State led 1-0 after an unearned run in the opening frame.

Augustana struck back in the top of the second with two runs thanks to a double from the bat of
Stella Harber. With
Gracey Brink and
Ashton Dorman on base, Harber struck a double into right-center field.

The lead increased to 3-1 as
Andrea Cain scored on a fielder's choice. With
Desi Cuevas batting, Harber and
Nicole Bellis scored to push the advantage to 5-2.

The Huskies then mounted a comeback scoring a run in the fourth and three runs in the fifth to take a 6-5 lead.

Augustana promptly answered back in the top of the sixth on an
Andrea Cain double to score
Ella Cooper. Two batters later, the Vikings garnered an 8-6 lead as
Kennedy Buckman doubled down the right-field line to score Cain and
Liz Dierks.

The Vikings racked up 12 hits in the second game with two each from Cain, Brink, Dorman and Harber. Buckman recorded three RBI in the contest. The win went to
Lexi Lander as she tossed three innings while giving up just one hit.

Augustana hosts Southwest Minnesota State on Wednesday at Bowden Field. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. with the second game of the doubleheader having an anticipated 4 p.m. start.
