SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana softball earned its fourth-straight sweep with a pair of 8-0 wins over UMary on Friday at Bowden Field. Both games were run-rule shortened with game one going six innings and game two five innings.

Augustana improves to 26-13 on the season and 11-1 in the NSIC. UMary falls to 7-25, 0-10.

Game One: Augustana 8, UMary 0
Augustana plated three runs in the first, two in the second, one in the fifth and two more in the sixth for the 8-0 win as part of 16 hits.
Grace Glanzer picked up her 12
th win of the season with five innings of one-hit ball while
Haley Grimmius tossed the final inning with two strike outs.

The first run came off the bat of
Kennedy Buckman as she doubled into left center. That started a trend of three-straight doubles as
Torri Chute doubled in Bcukman and
Ashton Dorman doubled in Chute.

In the third, Chute homered over the right-center field fence to make the score 4-0.
Â
Later in the third, Dorman hit a home run that bounced off the left-field foul pole to make the score 5-0.

The run in the fifth inning came on a wild pitch to score
Gracey Brink who was on base after doubling down the right-field line.

The game ending runs in the sixth came on a Buckman single and Chute single. Buckman's single up the middle scored
Andrea Cain while Chute's scored
Desi Cuevas.

Of the 16 hits, Cain, Buckman and Chute each recorded three hits while Chute had three RBI.

Glanzer struck out six of the 16 batters she faced with no walks.

Game Two: Augustana 8, UMary 0
Andrea Cain set the tone in the bottom of the first as the Vikings' right fielder hit a home run down the right-field line. To open the top of the second, she then made a highlight-reel catch.

In the bottom of the second, Cain tripled into right-center to score
Liz Dierks who was on base after bunting to the pitcher.

A double by
Torri Chute in the third scored
Kennedy Buckman as the score moved to 3-0. After a pitching change,
Nicole Bellis hit a bases-clearing single to boost the score to 6-0.

The seventh-run was courtesy of a double by Cain to score Dierks. Cain completed the cycle with a single in the fifth as she singled in the final run of the game with
Hailey Houston crossing home plate. Houston was on base with her first-career hit in her first-career at-bat with a bloop into left field.

Cain's cycle was in reverse order of home run, triple, double and single as she was 4-for-4 with four RBI. Her four hits were part of 13 for AU with Chute, Brink and Dierks each recording multi-hit games.

Helene Krage earned her second win of the season with the complete-game one hitter.
