Along with the nine inductees, a pair of teams will be recognized and three additional awards are given out. The 2012-13 Augustana women’s basketball team that won the NSIC Tournament title on its way to the NCAA DII Final Four and the 2014 Viking baseball team that won the first NSIC Baseball Tournament in program history and reached the NCAA Central Regional for just the second time.
The Ole Odney Alumni Coach of the Year is Kaaren (Gustafson) Huber. Kaaren is a 1993 graduate of Augustana and current assistant boy's and girl's track coach at Lincoln High School. She has been on the Lincoln staff for 26 years and also coached girl’s basketball for 11 years. In her 26 years, the Patriots have won 11 state championships in track and field, seven boys titles and four girls titles.
The Lefty Olson Award winner for lifetime service and achievement is Don Pierson. Don has spent 38 years at Augustana, 27 years as a football coach and 11 as the athletics event manager. He is responsible for athletics event management and game operations for the athletic department. He has recently announced his retirement, effective July 31.
The recipients of the Milt and Clara Harvey Award are cited for outstanding contributions of time, service and financial support of Augustana athletics. The recipients for 2024 are Pat and Patti McAdaragh. Pat, a 1981 graduate of Augustana, and Patti have generously supported multiple areas at Augustana including the A-Club, baseball program, hockey program, Impact Scholarships, and much more. Pat is the President & CEO of Midcontinent and currently serves as Chairman of the Augustana Board of Trustees.
