SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana soccer team (1-1) is set to host MIAA foe Fort Hays State in its home on Morstad Field, on Friday at 5 p.m. The Vikings went 7-2 on the home pitch last season and played FHSU to a 0-0 tie in its last matchup.

The Tigers
Fort Hays State holds a 0-1-1 record coming into Friday's game after tying its season opener to CSU-Pueblo by a score of 1-1. It finished off its opening weekend with a 2-1 loss to Rockhurst.
After a 13-5-3 record in 2023, the Tigers were selected to finish third in the MIAA preseason coaches' poll. FHSU tied for third in the MIAA regular season standings last year and made an NCAA Tournament appearance for the second straight year.
Junior forward Montserrat Diaz was selected to the 2024 Costa Rica national team assembled for the FIFA U-20 World Cup last month. In her third season for the Tigers, she has recorded 21 points.
The Vikings
The Vikings opened up the season against Central Missouri and Rogers State last weekend. AU dropped the season opener by a score of 4-2 to UCM but bounced back with a strong 1-0 win over RSU.

Macie Haggerty and
Madelyn White recorded goals throughout the weekend.
Taya Baker made her collegiate debut in the win over Rogers State as she recorded six saves.
Haggerty leads the Vikings in points with a goal and an assist.
Audrey Parnell has tallied a team-high seven shots with two on goal.
Augustana is averaging 1.50 goals per game and 14.5 shots per game in the weekend contest.
After Friday's match, Augustana remains home as it hosts Northwest Missouri in a midweek match on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 3 p.m.
