Vikings Set to Kick Off NSIC Action in North Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana volleyball will open up conference play in the 2024 season on the road with contests against the University of Mary Marauders on Friday at 6 p.m. and the Minot State Beavers at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

University of Mary
The Marauders are currently 2-6 on the season following a 1-3 weekend at the UNK Fall Classic last week, which included a sweep of Missouri Southern. Gabby Caskey leads the attack with 86 kills alongside 19 total blocks as Kaia Sueker has tallied 132 digs and setter Maddy Freed has dished out 285 assists and 13 aces.
 
Minot State
After going 1-2 through three games at the Live 1st Homecoming Classic last weekend, the Beavers sit with a 1-6 record after defeating Brandon University in five sets. Paulina Kowalska and Emily Barker have combined to lead the offensive, with 58 kills and 110 assists, respectively, while Barker has also collected 52 digs.
 
The Vikings 
Augustana defeated Westminster and Biola and fell to Northwest Nazarene and Colorado School of Mines at the NNU Nighthawk Invitational last weekend, now holding an even 4-4 record.
 
Reagan Jansen has slammed down 92 kills at 2.92 kills per set so far this season while Maya Wente has totaled 85 kills off a .376 hitting percentage. Sydney Tims has added 41 total blocks while Lucy Bartee has dished 324 assists with 86 digs, 10 aces and 12 total blocks.
 
Looking Ahead
The Vikings will hit the road for Southwest Minnesota State on Tuesday, Sept. 24 before returning for the home opener weekend with MSU Moorhead on Friday, Sept. 27 and Northern State on Sept. 28.
