Wayne State was picked to finish 10th in the NSIC poll and are 3-1 after a win over Newman on Thursday. Matt Noll leads three in double figures, averaging 17.0 points and 6.0 rbounds per gmae while shooting 49% from the field and knocking down 4 of 5 from 3-point range. Andrew Stokes follows with 11.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. 

About the Vikings
Augustana has opened the season 1-3 while playing a tough non-conference slate, with two losses coming by four points or less. 

Tameron Ferguson has been strong to open his sophomore campaign, leading the team with 21.3 points and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 59.6 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from deep. He has tallied at least 20 points in the last three games, including a 27-point performance against Northwest Missouri State on Nov. 15.

After missing all of last season, Caden Hinker has been a dominant force in his return. The redshirt junior has recorded three consecutive double-doubles while leading the team with 9.5 rebounds per game. He has tied his career-high in both points and rebounds this season, scoring 19 points in just 26 minutes against South Dakota Mines on Nov. 21 and grabbed 12 rebounds against Northwest Missouri State on Nov. 15.

Senior Sam Rensch is tied for the team-lead with seven made 3-pointers and is third on the team with 12.8 points per game. He is also second on the team with 3.0 assists per game and has grabbed 4.0 rebounds per contest. He has knocked down two 3-pointers in each of the last three games and scored a season-high 16 points in the opener against Missouri Western. 

Series History
Augustana and Wayne State match up for the 57th time all-time with the Vikings leading 36-20. Augustana has won three of the last four games in the series, including the last two matchups in Wayne. Tanner Te Slaa scored 21 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds in last season's matchup in Wayne as the Vikings won 65-59.
