SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana men's basketball team continues in the NSIC Tournament Sunday as the Vikings face MSU Moorhead at 7 p.m. in the Sanford Pentagon. The quarterfinal matchup is the second contest of the day's second session.

About the Dragons
MSU Moorhead was picked to finish second in the NSIC and tied for third after finishing the regular season 20-8. The Dragons have ranked as high as sixth in the country and have won eight in a row after battling injuries for most of the season. MSUM is also ranked fourth in the NCAA Central Region.
Three Dragons earned All-NSIC honors on Thursday morning. Logan Kinsey was named to the first team after averaging 15.4 points per game and has shot 37.8 percent from beyond the arc. Carson Johnson averages 19.0 points per game to lead MSUM and was also named to the first team after burning his redshirt early in the season. Jacob Jennissen was named to the second team after averaging 12.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
Te Slaa's Term
Tanner Te Slaa was named to the All-NSIC Second Team after a stellar first season with the Vikings. The junior from Hull, Iowa, leads the team with 13.9 points per game and is second with and 5.3 rebounds per game. He recorded four double-doubles on the year, including a 21 point, 14 rebound game against Wayne State in December.
Te Slaa scored double-digits in 22 of 29 games on the year and had a pair of games with five 3-point makes on the year. He also leads the NSIC shooting 86.6 percent from the free throw line and was fifth with a 38.1 percent 3-point shooting percentage.
Akoi's Final Act
The lone senior on the Viking roster,
Akoi Akoi has left a lasting mark. The Sioux Falls, S.D. native is second on the Vikings with 13.6 points per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. He is also second on the team with 70 assists, an 82.1 free throw percentage and 18 blocks.
Akoi has scored 996 career points, four away from becoming the 38th member of the Augustana 1,000 point club. He scored a career-high 26 points against Northern State in January and has a pair of 25 point games. Seven of his nine games of at least 20 points have come this season.
Slammin' Sammy
In his third season as a Viking,
Sam Rensch has thrived in an expanded role. He has started all 29 games after coming off the bench for the first 59 games of his career. The junior is averaging 12.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game while shooting 36.8 percent from deep and tallying 1.5 steals per game.
He has scored double digits in seven straight games, a stretch that includes a career-high 25 points against Sioux Falls on Feb. 11. During the same stretch, Rensch grabbed 14 rebounds while scoring 17 points for his first career double-double against Bemidji State on Feb. 14.
Tam Time
Tameron Ferguson continues to grow into his own while running the point for the Vikings. Ferguson has scored in double figures for the 14 times in his last 19 games and has committed just three turnovers in the last six games. He scored a career-best 25 points against Concordia-St. Paul on Dec. 14 and had a career-high nine assists on Feb. 11 against Sioux Falls.
The true freshman is fourth on the team with 10.1 points per game and has facilitated well, holding a 100/30 assist/turnover ratio. Ferguson ranks first in the NSIC and eighth nationally with a 3.27 assist/turnover ratio.
The Rise of Bennett Fried
In his first season of action,
Bennett Fried has already shown growth. The redshirt freshman is averaging 8.0 points and a team-high 5.4 rebounds per game. Against Minnesota Duluth on Feb. 26, Fried recorded his first career double-double with 15 points and tied a career-high with 12 rebounds.
In 23 games since entering the starting lineup, Fried is averaging 8.8 points and a team-best 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting at a 57.2 percent clip. In that time, he has also averaged 32.2 minutes per game. Fried has shot over 50 percent in 17 of the 23 games he has started and has recorded at least a block in seven straight.
Sharpshooting Hastreiter Has Career Night
Against No. 13 SMSU on Jan. 30,
Jack Hastreiter had a career night from deep to power the win. He scored a career-high 24 points on 8 of 9 shooting, including 7 of 7 from deep. Hastreiter had the second most makes without a miss in program history. He has seen action 26 games this year, knocking down at least one 3-pointer in 13 games and has at least a rebound in 20 of 26 games.

Kelton Coleman has been the microwave off the bench for the Vikings. The sophomore has scored double digits seven times this season, including a season-high 19 in 22 minutes against Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 8. He is sixth on the team with 6.5 points per game.
